This Year with God

I am not sure if you know this, but those verses on the left of the blog are not just verses I "like", they have a special meaning to me. For the last two years I have prayed and asked God to show me what He wants me to work on for the year. Last year He gave me:

Psalm 139:4
Even before a word is on my
tongue, behold, O LORD, you
know it all together.

James 3:9-10
9 With it we bless our Lord
and Father, and with it we curse
people who are made in the likeness
of God. 10 My brothers, these things
ought not be so.

What a year last year was. God showed me how to work on my tongue...but through it all He showed me that it was my heart that was not right. Our words and thoughts reflect our hearts.

Now, this year I prayed for what God wanted me to work on in 2012 and he did not delay to show me. Immediatly He said LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS (over and over again) I prayed ok God I hear you, please show me what verses you need me to meditate on. I love love love that when we ask in faith he answers us!

So this year God has given me a few verses (and I am sure there will be more) to work on. Here we go:

Matthew 22:37-39
37 You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your mind. 38 This
is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second is like it; you shall
love your neighbor as yourself.

1 John 3:17
But if anyone has the world's goods
and sees his brother in need, yet
closes his heart against him, how
does God's love abide in him? --WOW right!

1 John 4:20-21
20 If anyone says, "I love God," and
hates his brother, he is a liar, for
he does not love his brother whom
he has seen cannot love God whom
he has not seen. 21 And this
commandment we have from him;
whoever loves God must also love
his brother.

WOW! When I look back after writing this I see that God was working on my heart last year and preparing me for what he has in store for me this year! YAY God! I am listening and ready!

This week God has been showing me to LOVE HIM FIRST! Above all things Love God First!

Stop by once in awhile and see what God is doing in my life. I am thinking about a website that has my God Journals in it. For the life of me I cannot come up with a name...ideas??
