Christmas Day was great everyone came over for a late lunch. Chuck roast, rosemary potatoes and carrots, corn, rolls and of course Jesus Bday cake! R was so much fun this year! She "got' it all this year.

Christmas Eve was a little different this year. We skipped Christmas Eve service at church and went to mom's early. It was nice.

Gingerbread House 2011

We had a fun evening of decorating a Gingerbread House a few weeks ago! R loved it and the candy ;) She doesn't get a lot of candy so she loved this. She would sneak pieces!!! Oh and she loves candy canes like her mama! Mmm

I think that next year we will make the Gingerbread House from scratch. We did make the frosting from scratch since I bought the house last year on clearance so the frosting was a tad bit old...lol. I found a vegan recipe for Royal Frosting (no eggs). It was surprisingly good!

Decorating for Christmas 2011

Decorating for Christmas this year was so much fun! R got all the ornaments out of each box for me while I was putting on the lights. She loved it!!! Then she helped with putting on the ornaments...which all ended up at the bottom of course! :) R had her first cup of hot chocolate too that night! We even decorated a tree to put in her room. I just realized that we do not have a picture of the completed tree or her tree. I will add those soon. :)

R had a really good friend "Wiggins" that went to her school, but he no longer goes there. So his mom and I planned a playdate. Piper from her class also came. R had so much fun! It was cute, they remembered each other! We will have to do it again!

Meet The Newest Member of Our Family!

This is Genesis our new "daughter". Isn't she precious! God was really speaking to Rollie and I about sponsoring a child through Compassion. So we did back in Aug and are so excited about Genesis!

She is from Honduras, one of the poorest countries in Central America. Typical houses are constructed of cement and have zinc roofs. The spoken language is Spanish. Their diet consists of maize, beans, rice and spaghetti.

We wanted to pick a child that R could relate to because the normal sponsorship goes through to their 18th Birthday. So we picked a little girl similar in age with R. Genesis' bday is 6/25/08.

Our sponsorship provides so much to this little girl: allows the staff of Amigos de Jesús Student Center to provide your sponsored child with Bible teaching, medical checkups, health and hygiene education, field trips, group games, special celebrations, counseling, academic support, school supplies, uniforms and shoes. The center staff will also provide evangelism, special celebrations and opportunities for project involvement for the parents or guardians of your sponsored child.

Matthew 25:40 says: And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

Matthew 5:14 says: "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Hello We Are Back!

So we are finally back to posting! Hoping to post at least twice a month. I stopped doing my website for saving money (thewaywesave.com) go check out my last post to see why.

So without that taking up all my time I hope that it will free me up to post here! Which is more important. :)

Yesterday was R's 3rd Birthday! Wow right! She had a great day! It was so awesome because she knew that it was her birthday! Cute! She picked out stickers at the store the day before and took them to class yesterday to hand out to all her friends. They gave her a Crown to wear all day! Then we had Pizza, Fruit Snacks and Handy Manny in the evening! We are celebrating her Bday this Sat so there will be more pics to come.
